IT'S NOT A SPRINT; IT'S A MARATHON

That’s as true of life as of continuing to get the word out about a book. (Also, “Don’t give up your day job!” is what I told Sue Collins, RN and co-author of OK Now What? A Caregiver’s Guide to What Matters while we were writing the book together a surprising number of years ago).

The email below is the response from health writer and author, Patricia Meisol, to my sending her a copy of OK Now What? not long ago.

Hi Nancy,

I really liked your book. I have written about death and dying, and more than a decade ago was influenced by a book called Intimate Death by a French doc. Yours is spot-on and very much needed. My blurb is below. You do not have to include my book name. If you want, you can simply call me a veteran health care journalist.

Best of luck to you!! and congrats. I think it needs good exposure!

A comforting, thoroughly practical book on the dying process, offering resources, check lists, pain management tips, even recipes, but more importantly this is a book about the beauty and spiritual awakening the process can provide both caregiver and patient. Using examples from their experience, the authors reveal what the dying want and how loved ones can find the courage to talk to and hear from loved ones and help them find value in their lives. This comprehensive guide is a balm for every caregiver; it offers a blunt description of the hardship but also the privilege and joy of being fully present with the dying.
